23 weeks

We had a fun pregnancy milestone this week; we saw my belly move from outside when little one was kicking/pushing it from inside! That was wild, freaky and oh so cool! Feeling bigger every day; baby should double his weight in the next week from what I read. We are getting excited to meet him in just a few more months! We received an amazing box of baby boy clothes and maternity gear from my dear college bud K; opening it made us both so excited! Thanks, K! I thought I would post a few ideas we are thinking about for baby gear- we are trying not to go overboard.
This is from Pottery Barn and I love the idea of storing some books with covers facing out. It comes in white too but this color would match better though it may be too dark for a baby's room? (Crib is dark wood)

These three are from Fisher-Price's zen collection. The green and brown color theme matches exactly but these things wouldn't be used in the nursery anyway. We are trying to decide whether to go with bassinet, co-sleeper, or pack and play for our bedroom. We will probably have a downstairs sleeping area too. Parents- a friend is going to pass on her swing; do we need both a bouncy seat like below and a swing or is one or the other enough? input please!

yes a swing and a jumper are both needed/they provide different stimulus and occupy different emotions. The "person" I see using a co-sleeper is one called Luna Bella. a smaller criblike or larger bassinet like seems like it would cause fewer sharing problems between the two kids. don't worry about downstairs the first months; it's after they start to roll over that they need something to contain them. Until then pillows and blankets create prop areas on furniture and a carry seat or vibrating carry seat would probably be most used downstairs the first six months at least.

Your book display is cute but seems like for a kid to pull a book up and out it should be mounted low to the floor. Of course I guess the first 18 months you would be holding him up to look and pick.

ok... so the thing with the cosleeper is that its meant for being able to be easy for nursing...but the cosleeper mattress is lower that your bed (for safety reasons) so its uncomfortable to nurse like that...i preferred to nurse her in bed with me...get a "sleeping pad with side cushions so that baby does not roll over ) and then put pack and play in bedroom? comes with bassinet attachment which is wider and longer! we had a pack n play downstairs too... the bassinet is TOO NARROW and short for sleeping more than the first month /4 weeks...baby grows fast. i loved the exesaucer and loved a swing!!! xoxo

ps...you might want to get a swing htat is for babies reclined and also goes upright for a bit older... graco makes a beautiful one.

I say don't spend your money on a bassinet. They grow too fast. Yes, on the pack n' play to be used as a bassinet, crib, and play pen! My girls loved the vibrating chair and were iffy on a swing.
