So or placentophagy

I'm reading Brooke Shields postpartum depression memoir, and it says that one of the doctors mentioned that out with the placenta went many "well-being" hormones. So I'm thinking, no wonder my friend dried it up and put it into capsules; it makes total sense to me as a way to maintain the well-being feeling. So I put "dried placenta pills" into a google search, and up comes a usatoday article that says:
"... midwife offered her an unusual remedy: She suggested the expectant mother ingest her own placenta as a means of allaying postpartum depression. The temporary organ was saved, dried and emulsified, then placed in gelatin capsules and taken by the mother in the months after the birth in December 2004." (by Steve Freiss)
hmph.

This just a week after healing a 48 hr. unilateral temporal migraine by focusing on the side that felt good, and then reading that "because migraines are one-sided, focusing attention on the other side of the brain provides relief." hmph.
