What I do in the middle of the night






Yesterday I woke up at 2:15 with a need to finish making the nurse's gift bags I plan to take to the hospital. I will probably have at least 2 nurses in labor and delivery and 2 in post-partum (possibly more, depending on how many shifts I am there for) so I decided to make 8 bags. It was a fun project and something I really wanted to do after seeing it on Kelly's Korner blog several months ago. I got small reusable totes and filled them with big Ghiardelli chocolate bars, popcorn, tea, notepads, and candles wrapped with ribbon. I used the same ribbon on the tote handles, in aqua, lime and "cute"! I am happy with how they turned out!

Babymoon

We took a "babymoon" overnight trip this Valentine's weekend down to Carlsbad. We stayed right across from the beach and had time to relax, walk on the beach, eat yummy food, shop, see my cousin C. and her fiance M., and even go to the beautiful new Encinitas library! It was a great pre-parenting getaway! Now that I'm home, I'm starting to do the heavy-duty research on what we need and don't need, and I'm realizing I don't know much! For instance-how many bottles do we need? What's the difference between travel systems, infant car seats, bases and convertible car seats? Who knew that I didn't know? Not me! Wish us luck!!
