One week old



This pic is a good reflection of Owen's first week; mellow and laid-back! He slept pretty regular three-hour stints between feedings, falling asleep right away after eating and waking up pretty much three hours later on the dot. He loves kicking his legs straight out and holding them up in the air as well as stretching his arms above his head or just chilling with all the new airspace outside the womb! This week he:

*had visits from Apryle, Ashley, Julie, and Terri from school
*went for his first "walk" in the stroller (up and down our street!)
*had his first doctor visit (he weighed in at 8 lb. 4 oz. today so he is back up to his birthweight already!)

Babymoon

We took a "babymoon" overnight trip this Valentine's weekend down to Carlsbad. We stayed right across from the beach and had time to relax, walk on the beach, eat yummy food, shop, see my cousin C. and her fiance M., and even go to the beautiful new Encinitas library! It was a great pre-parenting getaway! Now that I'm home, I'm starting to do the heavy-duty research on what we need and don't need, and I'm realizing I don't know much! For instance-how many bottles do we need? What's the difference between travel systems, infant car seats, bases and convertible car seats? Who knew that I didn't know? Not me! Wish us luck!!
