12 weeks!


Owen is now 12 weeks old and he has really been growing/changing a lot during the past two weeks. The biggest development is that he has found his voice. He sure knows how to use it! His pitch and volume change a lot during the day, and he revels in high-pitched screams and vowel sounds "eeeeee", "oooooo" etc. The other biggest change is that he grabs objects and holds onto them. He pulls blankets, washcloths, socks and toys toward his mouth. Here we go!

Today my parents and I are off on Owen's first road trip to Palm Springs. Derek will stay home to work on a project for work. We will be there for two nights. Lots to pack for a twelve-week-old! New pix coming soon.

Babymoon

We took a "babymoon" overnight trip this Valentine's weekend down to Carlsbad. We stayed right across from the beach and had time to relax, walk on the beach, eat yummy food, shop, see my cousin C. and her fiance M., and even go to the beautiful new Encinitas library! It was a great pre-parenting getaway! Now that I'm home, I'm starting to do the heavy-duty research on what we need and don't need, and I'm realizing I don't know much! For instance-how many bottles do we need? What's the difference between travel systems, infant car seats, bases and convertible car seats? Who knew that I didn't know? Not me! Wish us luck!!
