A Busy Month!

October has been a fun and busy month at our house! Well, actually a lot of the fun has been outside the house! We visited lots of cousins and mom and dad spent their birthday at Disneyland while Owen hung out at the hotel with his grandpa Denny and grandma Joy. Of course he didn't leave Anaheim without his very own pair of personalized mouse ears!

This month Owen has hit several milestones: rolling over back to front, sitting up in a highchair, starting solids (Oct. 16) (rice cereal), and holding his own pacifier and bottle! He can take the pacifier out and put it back in on his own. He seems to enjoy the cereal (more at the 4/5 pm feeding than at the 8/9 am one) He loves to kick and splash the water out of the bathtub now, more ends up on the floor than in the tub!

At his four-month well-baby appt he weighed 16 lbs (75th percentile), was 26 1/2 inches, (92nd percentile) and had a head circumference of (oops have to look that up) but it went from the 50th to the 80th percentile. The dr. said it was all his brain! ha!

We are now trying to shift into more of a sleep routine, including a longer morning and afternoon nap (he usually sleeps 45 minutes at a time on his own, and needs coaxing to take a longer nap). The first four months he really slept a 5 hour and a 3 1/2 to 4 hour stretch at night, but now we are starting to have some sleep issues. He wakes up every 2-3 hours, and tonight was up from 2- 4 straight (hence why I am posting this at 4:33 a.m.
