Owen's Monkey Business

Little guy will probably not even use "his" bathroom for quite some time (we plan to use the baby tub in our bathroom) but I was thrilled when I finally got the inspiration for what the room will be like eventually. Since moving in, it has been the lavender bathroom with plain white walls and a bunch of black framed art that didn't really go anywhere else. Now it has a purpose! Monkeys and palm trees and stripes, oh my! The colors will be lemon yellow, lime green, sky blue and white. Here are some things I found while looking for inspiration: The art is from etsy.com- so cool! D. kind of wants an accent wall but I'm thinking stripey shower curtain in the color scheme and maybe a giant palm tree behind the door. Luckily we have some artists and design consultants in the family to get this idea off the paper and into reality! We also have plenty of time for this project; unlike our other little project who is getting closer every day!

This is a double post here at Casita Luna and Junebug St. The tradition of having a blessingway ceremony for expectant mothers is believed to have its roots in the Native American culture. There are many ideas of how to hold or celebrate a blessingway here . Since I am so far away from friends and loved ones I had an idea to incorporate a little bit of the flavor of a blessingway before our little one arrives, so I am inviting any of you who may be interested to participate. (Men too!) If you are so inclined, you are invited to send (or email) a little wish, quote, thought or prayer to me which I will assemble into a book of blessings to keep with me before, during, and after the birth. I am also inviting you to send a power bead of your selection for me to string into a bracelet or necklace which I will have with me during labor for encouragement. Have not been in a blogging mood of late- sorry dear junebug baby fans (all 9 of you). Maybe it's the heartburn or simply that I am SO EXCITED to meet this baby that I don't have the writing bug! Updates: *We start Lamaze classes tomorrow for the next five Saturdays. *Derek painted the nursery two weekends ago while I was in San Diego for cousin C's bridal shower with Alice and last weekend he put together the crib. *We ordered two sets of vinyl decals that should be arriving soon: the spirally tree below and the circle flowers near the bottom of the pix below, both in beige. *A friend of a friend passed along a Pottery Barn bassinet (just like this one, but without the side curtains) for our room: *I started my second round of prenatal yoga last night.
