Owen's Monkey Business

Owen is now a big brother and loving it! He especially enjoys laughing hysterically whenever Laney sneezes or burps. As of this post, Owen's Monkey Business is complete, detailing events from Owen's first year and a half. Look for Owen's new adventures on our family blog, Casa Luna . He will also make an appearance from time to time on Laney's new baby blog, Delaney Street .

Since September Owen has been attending a parent-tot class from 9-11 on Friday mornings at a local church preschool. My parents take him, but I have gone once and Derek has been able to go twice so far. The first hour they can play outside or try painting, playdough, or play centers. Then they have circle time and snack, music/songs and one more circle time before they can play outside again at the end. Here are some shots from this year. They also do special crafts each month so I have my first ornament (a sparkly snowflake) and a laminated Thanksgiving placemat with his handprint and mine.

As most of you know, we are blessed to have my parents caring for Owen while we are working. Here are some of the adventures they have. So much fun! I love that he is learning so much from them and it has been amazing. Now we just need to get them in the pix with O!

Owen's friend Cam moved away over the summer but luckily she comes back to town frequently to visit family. During one visit we had a meetup at the local library. Such cuties!

FAIR WARNING- This is a picture heavy post! Enjoy! We had such a busy/relaxed and fun weekend! Saturday and Monday we totally chilled at home getting things done. Sunday we met Will and his family at Kidspace Kids Museum in Pasadena and today we met Grandma Joy and Grandpa Denny at the Santa Barbara Zoo for a day of frolicking fun. The weather was cloudy and overcast today, a welcome change from the past several weeks of heat and sun. Sunday at Kidspace we had a blast in the indoor play area, the petting zoo, and the outdoor play area. The map is color coded by age group, and in 3 hours we had enough time for the main toddler activities plus a snack break. As you can see from the first picture, Will's mom Beth and I are a little bit similar looking. Enough so that Owen got confused twice and went right to her. At least we think he was confused.
