Owen's Monkey Business

Owen got to see his friend Camilla Rose for a walk in the park. Granted, there wasn't much playing going on yet but Camilla's mom Carmen and I enjoyed the fresh air and camraderie.

Grandma's birthday at Elephant Bar

Owen's first haircut was a week ago Thursday at a local barber shop my dad frequents. He found that they cut men's women's and children's hair for $8 and so Thursday afternoon about 5 pm we were off. Owen did great, sitting in momma's lap without a peep through the whole experience! Here are the photos:

G/G Prichard, Owen and I took a day trip to Ojai the day after dad's birthday to visit Carol and Alan. We enjoyed lunch al fresco and a lovely afternoon.

Saturday morning my parents and I left for Palm Desert/Palm Springs for the long weekend. Derek stayed home to work on a project for work. We really enjoyed exploring the area and Owen did great traveling and staying/sleeping at the hotel. We loved the cacti, desert architecture and tons of consignment/thrift shops there! Can't wait for a return trip and with Derek next time!

Owen is now 12 weeks old and he has really been growing/changing a lot during the past two weeks. The biggest development is that he has found his voice. He sure knows how to use it! His pitch and volume change a lot during the day, and he revels in high-pitched screams and vowel sounds "eeeeee", "oooooo" etc. The other biggest change is that he grabs objects and holds onto them. He pulls blankets, washcloths, socks and toys toward his mouth. Here we go! Today my parents and I are off on Owen's first road trip to Palm Springs. Derek will stay home to work on a project for work. We will be there for two nights. Lots to pack for a twelve-week-old! New pix coming soon.
