Our neighbor built a custom top for this antique Singer sewing machine that belonged to my great-grandmother! My handmade bird mobile. (Don't worry, the crib is not being used yet and all those ties will be removed first!) reading tree Mother Goose by "Gramp" Tico Joe This is called a blessing ring and is made of all the baby cards and ribbons! It hangs on his doorknob.

Can you tell my camera is finally fixed? Luna communing with Peter Rabbit: Two views of nursery right now. It is functioning as a guest space too so crib is pushed down by window but it will not be there when baby moves in. Baby will sleep in a bassinet in our room at first.

This one isn't mine, but it is an example of the one I am in the middle of making. (same pattern) I have 8 birds sewn in fabrics of orange and brown. I have 3 branches picked out. Just need to put it all together and hang it! In the meantime, enjoy this one:

Possibilities! Well, with the countdown at 11 weeks til full term (though the doctors keep reminding me first time babies often arrive later than their due dates) we are jumping into preparations with both feet! I am heading down to San Diego for the first time this morning with my cousin (who is due the week before me!) for our cousin's bridal shower tomorrow! So excited and for so many reasons! D. is staying home to do some work and house projects like...... painting the nursery pale moss green! We picked up the paint last night and have been looking at some wall decals here instead of painting things on the walls. I figure by the time baby can stand he'll start taking them off but at least we'll enjoy them for a while before that starts happening. Above are some of the ones we love! We'll probably end up picking 2.

Our neighbors sold us their glider today as they were packing the moving truck; we love it! Luna and I have been jumping on as soon as the other one gets up for a second. It reclines and swivels and we are in love!

Our crib bedding, Bunny Meadows We decided to go get it today, so we can match the paint color and get started on this nursery! We had pretty much decided on it a couple weeks ago, and now we've decided for sure! We are not getting the valance, hamper, or mobile though. It's organic and just adorable but simple! Right now, the nursery is lavender, but we are leaning toward repainting it pale moss green. It will match the chocolate brown carpet beautifully, and some of the bedding we've been eyeing is the moss or sage green and brown. A few of you have been asking about colors, so I would say we're 90% sure we will be going with the light green/brown, regardless of boy/girl. More on nursery later... The color palette looks a little different on the monitor, more beige/gray than green, but try adjusting your monitor until you can see it better.

Our neighbors gave us their 4 year old's crib tonight...it's gorgeous cherry wood and looks like this: It also converts to a toddler bed and a twin. Pretty cool, huh?
